Help your children study more safely at home
A few top tips to keep them comfortable!
As we isolate through the COVID19 crisis, children are now sat at the kitchen/dining room table at home doing school work for longer periods than homework would normally take, which is not ideal for growing bodies, so we wanted to share our expertise with you to create a more comfortable workstation for them.
Whilst seated at the table aim to have the knee slightly lower than the hip and the elbow level with top of the table with relaxed shoulders.
If you have a TrippTrapp – adjust for little legs! It might even be time to ditch the little seat and have them sitting on what was the foot rest with their feet now on the floor.
If you don’t have a Tripp Trapp and children are working from a kitchen or dining room chair ensure they something to rest their feet on, could be a cardboard box/books? If they are under 5’2” they need a foot rest.
Mix up the learning position – reading /stories in the garden/sofa/bed, ditto snacks.
Regular breaks are essential physically and mentally, have them run around the table or garden every 30 minutes and then resettle.
Aim for a maximum of 1 hour of work before you move to another activity.
