Risk of Coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission at Active Chiropractic Clinic
ACTIVE CHIROPRACTIC CLINIC has conducted a thorough risk assessment to ensure adequate levels of safety at this clinic are implemented and maintained. We are following the most up-to-date States of Jersey Government and Public Health England guidance and put in place stringent patient triage, hygiene, sanitation and infection control protocols to protect our patients and staff. Despite these precautions, there is a risk of transmission of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and it is important that you understand the risk. We have provided the information below to help you decide if you wish to continue with your care at ACTIVE CHIROPRACTIC CLINIC and remind you that you are under no obligation to do so.
Precautions that ACTIVE CHIROPRACTIC CLINIC has in place:
All patients contacting us for an appointment via online booking are required to complete a risk assessment questionnaire which must be completed, signed and returned by emailed prior to their appointment. The forms are read and triaged by Grant or Penny Henderson who may then speak to you over the telephone to establish the following: whether symptoms are present, if you are self-isolating, if anyone in your household has symptoms or is self-isolating, or you have been in contact with anyone with COVID-19 symptoms.
We enforce a strict policy that anyone with any COVID-19 symptoms or who is feeling unwell must stay away from the clinic.
A second triage is conducted at the Clinic, including a non-contact temperature check by us at the door.
A strict cleaning, sanitation and infection control protocol is adhered to and implemented between patients – Please ask if you would like to see this document.
All team members at Active Chiropractic Clinic adhere to the social distancing guidance issued by the Government.
The layout of the building and clinic room has been adapted to maintain social distancing. There is now a one-way system for entry and departure into Club Soulgenic. You will enter as normal and leave by the fire exit staircase which will be clearly marked and brings you out to the old reception area and through Nude Food’s door. The lift is available for those that are unable to negotiate the staircase, this is strictly one person at a time rule, please ensure you stand back from the lift door to allow people exiting as the lift arrives. The lift will be cleaned after use.
Toilets – the normal toilets on each floor are closed at at the moment. There is an ‘accessible’ bathroom on each floor, this is monitored hourly and cleaned and will be available for you to use should you wish. This is located opposite the door to the Wellness Centre.
Patients waiting are restricted to one person per practitioner at any time and a 2-metre distance will be enforced between patients and non-clinical team members.
Grant and Penny will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for your protection. This is likely to be scrubs, apron, mask and gloves and possibly a visor.
Active Chiropractic Clinic is committed to ensuring that every measure is in place to minimise the risk of exposure to COVID-19, but we cannot guarantee there is no risk to you as a result of attending the clinic.
People can catch COVID-19 from others who have the virus. The disease can spread from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth which are spread when a person with COVID-19 coughs or exhales. These droplets land on objects and surfaces around the person. Other people then catch COVID-19 by touching these objects or surfaces, then touching their eyes, nose or mouth. People can also catch COVID-19 if they breathe in droplets from a person with COVID-19 who coughs out or exhales droplets. The risk of catching COVID-19 from someone with no symptoms at all is very low. However, many people with COVID-19 experience only mild symptoms. This is particularly true at the early stages of the disease. It is therefore possible to catch COVID-19 from someone who has, for example, just a mild cough and does not feel ill.
