Relief from migraines
The main symptoms
"Migraine is an inherited tendency to have headaches with sensory disturbance. It’s an instability in the way the brain deals with incoming sensory information, and that instability can become influenced by physiological changes like sleep, exercise and hunger."Professor Peter Goadsby, Professor of Neurology, King’s College London; Director, NIHR-Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility, King’s College Hospital London; Trustee of The Migraine Trust.
How can we help?
Acupuncture is an effective treatment for a range of painful conditions and is recommended by NICE for the prophylactic treatment of migraines in people over the age of 12 years.
Our patient's find that a combination of gentle chiropractic mobilisation and acupuncture reduces the frequency and intensity of their migraines. Generally we start with a short course of treatment after taking a careful medical and migraine history. Treatments are spaced out until the patient discovers their optimum time between treatments, for some this is monthly for other every other month or at longer intervals. Generally most find monthly treatments give the most favourable results.
